New Summerfest Date To Be Announced Next Week
With the restrictions on outdoor gatherings set to be lifted, a new date for Point Pleasant's Summerfest will be announced next week.

POINT PLEASANT—Last week, the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce announced that due to the restrictions on social distancing and outdoor gatherings, the borough’s annual Summerfest had been postponed, with a new date to be announced early next week.
The borough’s annual Summerfest, which brings thousands of people to the borough’s Community Park. When the announcement was made, outdoor gatherings were limited to 500 people but with the removal of all restrictions on outdoor activities by Governor Phil Murphy on Monday.
“With the restrictions that were set in place, we couldn’t have the number of people that we wanted,” Gloria DeFalco, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, said.

With the relaxed restrictions set to be in place beginning May 19, the planning process is still underway, with a date announcement to be made soon.
“Now that the restrictions have been lifted, we are able to start planning, and we are going to be announcing a new date soon,” DeFalco said.
