New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey was on hand on Wednesday to present the Quick Stop Food Store owner with a ceremonial bonus check for selling the winning $202 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket.

Carey presented the owner of the Quick Stop Food Store, Apexaben Patel, with a check for $30,000 representing the bonus commission the store receives for selling the winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket.

“The win has made this local Quick Stop a very popular place. It will continue to be known around the country as a very lucky lottery location,” Carey said. “We are thrilled that the New Jersey Lottery brand can assist our state’s business owners, large and small, with brand building by offering lottery products that encourage consumer traffic into their stores."

In addition to the jackpot-winning ticket, there were 689,521 other winning tickets in the Feb. 11 drawing at all prize levels. One ticket matched the five white balls to win the game’s second prize of $1 million, the release said.

And 14 tickets won $10,000 each; two of those are actually worth $20,000 each because they also included the optional Megaplier, which was 2X for Tuesday’s drawing.

The jackpot had been rolling since it was last won in Ohio on Dec. 17; The Great Hope Trust claimed that $375 million prize.

During this jackpot run, there were more than 7.8 million winning tickets sold since December 17, including the jackpot winner and 17 other tickets with prize values of $1 million or more.

The next drawing on Valentine’s Day on Friday resets to the Mega Millions starting value of $40 million ($28.1 million cash).

Mega Millions tickets cost $2; by adding the Megaplier option for an extra dollar per play, players can increase their non-jackpot winnings up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 46 participating jurisdictions. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
