Penguins, Mermaids & More: 'Noon Year's Eve' Family Event Unveiled At Jenkinson's

Bring the family to a new New Year's Eve event at Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant Beach for an afternoon of fun to end the year.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Looking for a fun way to close out 2024? Take the kids to meet penguins at Jenkinson's Aquarium in Point Pleasant Beach.

The penguin meet and greet is just one of the things to do at the Noon Year's Eve event being held for the first time at Jenkinson's, the company announced.

The event runs from noon through 4 p.m. Tuesday at Jenkinson's Pavilion and the aquarium, 300 Ocean Ave. in Point Pleasant Beach.

In the aquarium, you can meet Mermaid Brizo, watch mermaids swimming in the aquarium's coral reef tank and meet the African penguins who live at the aquarium as part of a Species Survival Plan to help ensure their survival, as African penguins are endangered.

At the Pavilion, there will be the Eyes of the Wild animal show, a mini Princess Palooza and a balloon drop to celebrate the arrival of 2025.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Noon: Meet Mermaid Brizo – Aquarium Classroom
  • 12:30 p.m.: Eyes of the Wild Animal Show – Pavilion
  • 1 p.m.: Penguin Meet & Greet – Aquarium Classroom
  • 1:30 p.m.: Eyes of the Wild Animal Show – Pavilion
  • 2 p.m.: Swimming Mermaid – Aquarium Coral Reef
  • 2:30 p.m.: Mini Princess Palooza – Pavilion
  • 3 p.m.: Penguin Meet & Greet – Aquarium Classroom
  • 3:30 p.m.: Swimming Mermaid – Aquarium Coral Reef
  • 4 p.m.: Balloon drop in the Pavilion

Aquarium tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for seniors, $12 for children ages 3-11 (children younger than 3 get in free).
