Ocean Road Elementary To Host Bike Rodeo Thursday

Third and fourth-graders at Ocean Road Elementary will learn about as aspect of bike safety.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – The Point Pleasant Police Department and the Greater Mercer Transportation Management Authority are holding a bike rodeo at Ocean Road Elementary School in Point Pleasant on Thursday, Sept. 16.

During the event for third and fourth-graders, riders will learn about safe riding skills, including hand signals, along with getting a helmet check.

Students can bring their own bikes to the event, and if they ride to school that day, they must wear a helmet and park their bikes at the bike rack near the gym and enter with the walkers. Parents who ride with their kids can meet their child at the bike rack at 2:40 p.m., but please send a note a day prior telling their teacher to dismiss them to the bike rack.
