Ocean Road School in Point Borough Had Celebration Outside

School celebrated "No Child Left Inside Day"

Ocean Road School had a "No Child Left Inside Day" celebration on Wednesday.

A zoo assembly and lunch was held indoors, as originally planned, but there was a 1:40 p.m. outdoor concert and other outdoor activities.

  • A "Zoo on Wheels" assembly by the Philadelphia Zoo with a program entitled Who’s Who at the Zoo. The assembly in the gym featured live animals and focused on animal classification.
  • An outdoor lesson chosen by students: Students did a reading or math lesson, a science lesson related to nature or picked another subject.
  • No "Child Left Inside" T-shirts, which were  provided by the PTO, were decorated by students outside and then worn for the day.
  • An outdoor concert was held, featuring Matt Noffsinger and Ocean Road alumnus “Little Jimmy” Lawroski. 
  • Free ice cream for all students (and staff) were provided by the PTO.
