A woman was injured when her car lost control and hit a tree near the corner of Herbertsville Road and Claridge Court on Saturday night, according to the Point Boro First Aid Squad.
The woman was semi-conscious when she was removed from her vehicle and transported by the squad to Jersey Shore Medical Center's trauma unit in Neptune, according to Squad Captain Andy Welsh.

Welsh said the woman was alone in her vehicle when it hit a tree, which is still standing, and then drove onto the lawn of a home at the intersection. Emergency responders were dispatched at 8:35 p.m.
Claridge Court had been closed for a while because of the accident and ongoing investigation, but the road was re-opened by 10 p.m., according to Welsh.
Chatter on the Breaking News Network and Facebook that the car hit a house at the intersection was not accurate, said Welsh, who was providing information as he was still at the scene. Squad members remained at the scene to provide lighting for police as they continued their investigation.
MONOC Paramedics also responded to the scene.
Police department personnel authorized to release information to the media were not working Saturday night and will not be on duty until Monday, so information from police will likely not be available until then.
