Racers will be building, designing, and racing their pumpkins for prizes at Jenkinson's on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – Jenkinson’s is bringing back its annual Perky’s Pumpkin Derby on Saturday, Oct. 30. Contestants will be racing pumpkins for prizes in two different divisions based on the size of the pumpkin being used, under 12 pounds and over 12 pounds.
Racing begins at 2 p.m. with check-in from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. and only real pumpkins can be used.
When it comes to building your racing pumpkin, racers must utilize a real pumpkin in their design, and all design elements must be family-friendly and not exceed 18 inches in diameter and weigh more than 25 pounds.

The pumpkin’s wheels must go completely through the pumpkin and there can’t be any motorization. Racers can attach their pumpkin to a pre-fabricated chassis but you will be placed in a separate category.
The number of divisions and heats will be decided at check-in when pumpkin crafts are weighed in and while it’s only one entry per child, there can be multiple entries per family.
