The Woman's Club of Point Pleasant has a new committee working on saving lives by making people aware of the dangers of being phone distracted. " Heads up - Phones down"!
Phone distraction walking or driving isn't just dangerous, it's a killer!
In New Jersey, from 2011 through 2020: more than half of all crashes and a third of fatal crashes involved a distracted driver. Heads up -- phones down ! Saves lives!

Also, 43 percent of pedestrian-involved crashes also involved a distracted driver on their phone, or a person on their cell phone while crossing the street.
NJ law prohibits the use of cellphones while driving. Fines can range from $200 to $800 and up to a 90-day license suspension.

The Woman's Club of Point Pleasant has formed a new committee to address - Pedestrian, Bicycle and Vehicle Safety.
