“We’ve had some success, and there have been other areas that have been a little more difficult.”
Kanitra said that he has already emailed both state and county officials since Arnold Avenue is a county road and Route 35 is a state road, as well as email conversations with members of the council, but he wanted to have a discussion on the record.
Distracted driving and bike riding was discussed, along with the fact there are a lot of people who visit Point Pleasant Beach that isn’t aware of the local roads that aren’t paying as much attention, and since Route 35 is a one-way, aren’t paying as much attention as they should.
Kanitra then asked the council would back a resolution asking the state and Ocean County to present the council with potential solutions, which was unanimously passed.
