Point Beach Mom's Reported Coronavirus Scare With 3-Year-Old Son
A Point Pleasant Beach woman talked to The Asbury Park Press about the anguish she went through when her son, 3, contracted the virus.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH – "Never a dull moment with my Joey Bananas. So glad we are on the other side of this now."
That's how Jamie Peckio phrased it on Facebook after The Asbury Park Press published the Point Pleasant Beach mom's story about her 3-year-old son's saga with the coronavirus.
The trouble began, she told The Asbury Park Press, when the 32-year-old took her 3-year-old son's temperature and it came back at at 104.8 degrees. Tylenol barely helped: Joseph's temperature stayed at 102 degrees. or higher, she told the Press.

Peckio eventually started showing mild symptoms herself, she told the Press, and was told to assume she was positive.
She told Patch that she and her son are both doing well after he underwent some experimental treatments and quarantining.

Her son was among a number of people in Point Pleasant Beach and Point Pleasant Boro who have been infected. Point Pleasant Boro had 88 cases as of Thursday, and Point Pleasant Beach had 24, according to the Ocean County Health Department.
