Point Beach S'Mores Night Coming Up Sunday

Event to be held at Maryland Avenue beach

Enjoy a bonfire on the beach and roast some marshmallows at S'Mores Night at the Maryland Avenue Beach in Point Beach on Sunday evening.

The Point Beach Recreation Committee is sponsoring the family event, from 6 to 9 p.m., for all Point Beach residents and taxpayers, continuing a tradition it started

Those attending are asked to bring marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, roasting sticks and any chairs or blankets they may want to use.

And if anyone has a guitar they know how to play, bring that and a good singer too.

But do not bring alcohol. It is not permitted at this event.

Parking is limited, so car pooling or walking are probably good ideas.

Organizers could use some help setting up, running the event and cleaning up to keep the town-owned beach clean.

For those who are not quite sure how to get to the Maryland Avenue beach: it is on the south end of town next to Bay Head. The Maryland Avenue street sign is not visible from Ocean Avenue, so here's how to find it:

If you are driving south on Ocean Avenue, turn left on Michelle Lane, right on Beacon Lane, find a parking spot, and then, on foot, turn left on Maryland Avenue.
