POINT PLEASANT BEACH – A 48-year-old woman was charged this week after yelling “pigs! oink, oink!” at Point Pleasant Beach police and presumably claiming she had the coronavirus, authorities said.

Amy Bosco was arrested on Thursday by the Point Pleasant Beach police and charged with terroristic threats during an emergency after she repeatedly removed her mask and forcibly blew air at emergency workers, police said.

The incident happened when Bosco entered the police station and yelled “pigs! oink, oink!” as she acted irate and aggressive, screaming obscenities and refusing to leave, according to the Office of Attorney General.

While in custody, Bosco claimed she was experiencing a medical emergency and requested that she be transported to the hospital, police said.

The Point Pleasant First Aid Squad was contacted. While the first aid squad was assessing the situation, Bosco continued to be uncooperative and disorderly, yelling obscenities and threatening first aid members and officers, police said.

Bosco continuously screamed that she had the virus and repeatedly removed her mask and forcibly blew air in the direction of emergency workers, police said.

After she was cleared from the hospital, Bosco returned to the police headquarters and was charged, police said.

"Threatening comments and behavior associated with being infected with this deadly virus will not be tolerated by anyone," Chief Joseph Michigan said.
