The regional champions are a stepping stone to what next year's state football playoffs will look like, when the NJSIAA is set to crown public school group champions for the first time.

Point Boro has been having a stellar season, winning the Central Jersey Group 2 title for the first time since 2005. The Panthers have just one loss, 35-30, to Manasquan, and in that game they rallied to score their 30 points in the last 3 minutes.

They have not lost since.

Haddonfield (9-3), the South Jersey Group 2 champion, lost on Thanksgiving, 36-13, to Haddon Heights, but had reeled off seven straight wins including the sectional championship.

Saturday's game is at 10 a.m. at Rutgers. Tickets are $12 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens, and must be purchased online through the NJSIAA website. Parking passes are $15 and also can be purchased through the website.

The game will be broadcast online by NJ.com for those who are unable to attend in person.
