Point Boro Marching Band Honored For 2nd Regional Championship Win

The Marching Panthers won their category at the 2023 Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships in Hershey, PA.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The Point Pleasant Boro Marching Panthers were honored Monday by the Point Pleasant Board of Education for a championship marching band season.

The marching band won at the 2023 Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championship on Nov. 5, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where marching bands from several states compete and show off their precision and their musical ability.

Point Pleasant won the Group 3A championship, their second title in the category, with an overall score of 95.55 and honors in auxiliary and percussion. The Marching Panthers also won Group 3A in 2019.

For the 2023 championships, the marching band's show was titled "Barnum," and featured four songs from the 2017 film "The Greatest Showman," about P.T. Barnum, according to Point Boro's submission to the Atlantic Coast Championships tournament program.

The members of the marching band received certificates at the school board meeting. Their names are below.
