The Point Pleasant 9-year-old All-Stars won the Southern New Jersey Cal Ripken 9-year-old 2011 District 2 Tournament.
The tournament team of 9-year-old borough boys won on Tuesday night against Brick American, consisting of all Brick players, who they had also beat on Monday night.
On Monday night they won 7-6 and on Tuesday night they won 6-5 in extra innings. Both games were played at McKennan Lake Field on Route 88 in Point Borough.

This is the first time a borough all-star team has won the District 2 championship since 2007, said head coach Dave Hernandez, who was backed up all season by assistant coaches Chuck Romer and Dave Bycsek.
