Point Pleasant Beach Schools Closed Jan. 19 Due To Snow Forecast
District officials announced the closure as a winter storm predicted to bring up to 6 inches of snow moved into the area on Friday.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — The Point Pleasant Beach School District will be closed Friday, Jan. 19, due to the forecast calling for up to 6 inches of snow.
The closure was announced shortly after 6 a.m. Friday. The district has three emergency closure days built into the 2023-24 school year calendar.
Snowfall is anticipated to start early Friday morning across the area, with the heaviest snow anticipated to begin about 9 a.m., according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service's Mount Holly office. A winter storm warning has been issued for Ocean County through 10 p.m. Friday.
