Republicans Kanitra, Migut Elected To Point Beach Council

Paul Kanitra was the top vote getter with 985 votes

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ - Control of the Borough Council will remain solidly in Republican hands with the election of the two GOP candidates on Tuesday to the three-year terms available.

Paul Kanitra, 1811 Beacon Lane, was the top vote getter with 985 votes, or 29.95 percent. Incumbent Thomas Migut, 1601 East Street, was second with 868 votes, or 26.93 percent.

Democrat Don Rodgers, 414 Broadway, was third with 755 votes, or 22.96 percent. Democrat Russell Kelly, 818 West Laurel Avenue, received 678 votes, or 20.61 percent.
