Route 88 Jughandle Closed For Roadwork In Point Pleasant

Point Pleasant police said detours are in place for the Route 88 closure, and for two other street closures for utility work.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The jughandle from Route 88 west to Beaver Dam Road has been shut down by the state Department of Transportation on Tuesday, Point Pleasant police said.

The closure is expected to be in place until 4 p.m. There are detours posted, police said.

In addition, South Street is closed to through traffic between Joseph Street and Juniper Street, and Charles Street is closed to through traffic between Burnt Tavern Road and South Street, both for utility work. Detours are expected to be in place until about 4 p.m., police said.
