Seniors On Pt. Boro Football Team Put Spin On Yearly Tradition

POINT PLEASANT, NJ – The senior players on the Point Plesant Boro football team have decided to take an annual tradition and turn it on its head to help support businesses in town.

Every year, local businesses adopt a senior player for a small fee as part of the “Senior Give Back” initiative, which goes towards the cost of the jersey that they get at the end of the season. They also get a poster of the player that they adopted.

In light of the ongoing global pandemic, this year’s senior class decided to do something different for this year’s initiative. Instead of the businesses adopting the players, each senior player picked two businesses. Each business will be announced before every home game to help out the local businesses that have helped out the team over the years.

“With so many businesses suffering through the last 18 months of the pandemic, the Seniors felt it would be unfair to ask a business to adopt them,” The Black and Gold Football Parents Club, who have also adopted two businesses, said in a statement.
