POINT PLEASANT BEACH – The show's over for Snooki and her career-defining appearances on "The Jersey Shore."

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi said she is leaving show that made her famous – months after she was caught on video in Point Pleasant Beach, storming out and yelling from the set.

Polizzi said there's a lot of reasons why she's come to this decision, but she did suggest that her blow-up may have had something to do with it.

In August, Snooki was caught video storming out of a Point Pleasant Beach house – and local officials apparently didn't even know the cast was there – and yelling. "Stop taking to me. I'm leaving ... The incident prompted Mayor Stephen Reid to later say the borough's counsel and police chief planned to contact the show's producers to let them know that Point Pleasant Beach has an ordinance saying you cannot film on public or private property without a permit.

Snooki said she wants to have a good time and "I'm putting myself out there and I just want to come off as a good person and lately, on the show, it's just been very drama."

"Our show, Jersey Shore, is about family and about making fun of each other and having a good time and laughing and just knowing that's all in good fun, and lately it's, just, everything is so serious," she said. "I don't want that and I'm not leaving my kids days on end to film this show when that is the result of it."

The incident was captured on video by a neighbor, Frankie Adao of the UNnormalized podcast, who provided the clip to TMZ. Adao said on his YouTube channel that production ran after her, trying to calm her down.

Here is the video – the fight is at 0:23 and the cast is seen at Jenkinson's at 1:54 (viewer discretion advised for language):

Snooki, however, said her main reason for leaving is: "I just can't do it anymore. Like, literally leaving my kids to film it is really really hard on me."

Polizzi said she's tried to quit "every single day" but she suggested that she's been talked back into it by the producers.

"I quit every single time we film. I hate being away from the kids. I don't like partying three days in a row," she said. "It's just not my life anymore I want to be home with the kids."

You can listen to Snooki talk about her departure on her podcast at the 10-minute mark:

Snooki said she won't return for season four of "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation," coming after a season of controversy in which the show has had a hard time finding places in New Jersey to shoot.

The show had recently picked Lavallette to film some of their latest escapades, Mayor Walter LaCicero confirmed to Patch. It was the third New Jersey town in a matter of weeks that was approached by the MTV show.

However reluctantly, Lavallette officials were ready to hear what the "Jersey Shore" crew was ready to do. "They sent a letter asking if they could film here," LaCicero said. "We said we would need specifics about when and where."

But the producers never got back, though LaCicero said there was little the town could do if the show wanted to film on private property. Public property, however, is a different story, and Lavallette didn't appear to be ready to open its doors to the party-driven show.

"The reputation that the show has is not something we were interested in," LaCicero said.

This summer, the Hamilton Township Committee voted to table a proposal from 495 Productions to film episodes of "Jersey Shore Family Vacation" in the Mays Landing section of the town, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
