Summer Camp Registration Announced In Point Pleasant Beach

Camp counselors are still being hired for the summer program, the Point Pleasant Beach Recreation Committee said.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Registration for the Point Pleasant Beach summer camp program for 2023 is tentatively scheduled to open Monday, May 15, officials said.

The borough's summer camp program is set for July 10 to Aug. 18, Mondays through Fridays, at Pleasure Park, with 8:15 a.m. drop-off and 12:45 p.m. pick-up.

Registration is offered on a rolling basis based on planned attendance and residency status.

For full-time campers, registration will be available for Point Pleasant Beach residents first, from May 15-31. Point Beach residents can register after May 31 but on first-come, first-served basis, officials said. Spaces for residents will not be guaranteed after May 31.

Nonresidents will be allowed to register full-time campers from June 1-15, on a first-come, first-served basis as spots are available.

Fees are $375 for Point Pleasant Beach residents and $500 for nonresidents.

A tentative registration window for weekly campers is set for June 10, and will only be available as space allows. If space is not available during the week you are requesting, it will be blocked off as an option upon trying to complete registration, officials said.

The cost per week, if space is available, is $125 per week for Point Pleasant Beach full-time residents and $200 per week for nonresidents.

The Point Pleasant Beach Recreation Committee said camp counselors are still being hired for the 2023 camp, for both lead counselors and regular counselors. The application is available here; for more information send an email to recreationcommittee@pointbeach.org.

The Recreation Committee said a Point Pleasant Beach resident is defined as any child whose parent or legal guardian owns property in Point Pleasant Beach. If a child is residing with a relative/friend who is not a parent or legal guardian, they will be subject to the nonresident fee and can begin registering on June 1.

Children of a parent/legal guardian in a yearly rental lease is considered a resident. Summer or short-term rental leases are considered nonresidents and will be subject to the nonresident fee and can begin registering on June 1.

Children who live outside of Point Pleasant Beach but attend school in Point Pleasant Beach are nonresidents; they will be subject to nonresident fee and can begin to register on June 1.

Proof of guardianship, property ownership and/or year-round lease will be required upon registration.
