Tractor-Trailer Slams Vehicles At Stop & Shop In Point Pleasant Beach
The impact as the semi hits the vehicles and a utility pole was captured in security video, a report said.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — A tractor-trailer slammed into vehicles parked along Route 35 outside Stop & Shop on Monday, flipping one and snapping at least one utility pole, officials said.
The tractor-trailer had been headed south on Route 35 — also known as Richmond Avenue —when it hit several vehicles parked in the on-the-street parking at the grocery store, Ocean Fire Company officials said.
Video from nearby surveillance cameras published by News 12 New Jersey shows the impact, with at least three vehicles shoved forward and a Jeep upended, landing on the bed of the tractor-trailer.

Crews from the fire company and the Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency Squad checked for potential injuries; the vehicles were not occupied at the time and the truck driver was not injured.
Video published by The Lakewood Scoop on Twitter showed a crane lifting the Jeep off the bed of the tractor-trailer.

Crews had to clean up fluids that leaked from the truck and a crew from Jersey Central Power & Light had to repair the utility pole that was damaged, fire officials said.
