Traffic Alert: Traffic Signal Down On Route 88 In Point Pleasant
Repairs are underway to the traffic signal at Arnold Avenue and detours are possible.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Repairs are underway on a traffic signal at the intersection of Route 88 and Arnold Avenue on Tuesday morning, disrupting traffic in the area.
The traffic signal was knocked down by a motor vehicle during a crash, Point Pleasant Capt. Christopher Leonhardt said. The crash happened about 6 a.m. and was still under investigation, he said.
Point Pleasant police were urging drivers to use caution in the area and said there may be temporary detours while the state Department of Transportation works to repair the signal.

The state Department of Transportation, on its traffic website 511nj.org, said eastbound lanes are shifted but the westbound lanes are open.
"STAY ALERT!" police said in an alert.

There was no estimate on when the intersection would be fully reopened.
