Tree Planting Grants Now Available In Point Pleasant Beach

The borough's Shade Tree Commission is now accepting applications for fall plantings.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ – The Point Pleasant Beach Shade Tree Commission is now accepting applications for its fall grant program for home and business property owners to nominate their block for new street trees.

Because there are so many blocks virtually devoid of street trees, the Shade Tree Commission felt it was important to involve neighbors in improving their block’s appearance with new trees.

The commission will evaluate each application based on need, width of planting area, and suitability. If a block is selected, all property owners will receive notification of the award and have the opportunity to choose to be a part of it.

All nominations must be received by Sept. 20 to ensure fall planting. Please include your name, address, and contact information in the nominations, which can be emailed to shadetreeppb@gmail.com or mailed to the PPB Shade Tree Commission, 416 New Jersey Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.
