Here's what to know as courtesy busing is coming back to Point Pleasant Boro schools amid the COVID crisis.

POINT PLEASANT BORO – Courtesy busing is coming back to the Point Pleasant Boro School District, and the district has outlined everything you need to know.
School officials have announced that they're reinstating courtesy busing for all eligible busing students on Tuesday, January 19th.
The reinstatement of this policy will add students in grades 1-5 who are eligible and who live more than three-quarters-of-a-mile from their school, according to Jonathan Triebwasser, supervisor of transportation and food services.

Students in grades 6-8 who are eligible and who live more than nine-tenths of a mile will also be added. All kindergarten students will be eligible for transportation.
For the purpose of determining eligibility, the distance from school will be measured by the shortest route along public roadways or walkways from the entrance of the student’s residence nearest such public roadway or walkway to the nearest public entrance of the student's assigned school.

The adding of courtesy busing students to the current bus runs will increase busing ridership on every bus upwards to over 40 students per bus run, depending on who ultimately uses the service, officials said.
All students will be required to wear face masks.
All students, including those who were receiving transportation prior to this change in eligibility, will be receiving a new bus pass. The reason for this is your previous bus number and pick up and drop off times may be changed in order to accommodate the additional students.
Your new bus passes will be available on the Parent Portal this week.
