  1. will collect residents' Christmas trees for recycling, but there is no set schedule. Simply put your tree by the curb and it will be picked up.

  3. Chess master Jon Edwards will discuss his book  at the , 7 p.m., Free. 
  4. Dick Doran will speak at the monthly meeting of the Central Jersey Orchid Society, discussing Zygos and Lycastes. He will also bring plants to sell. Johnson Education Center, 1 Preservation Place, 7:30 p.m., Free. 
  5. Today there will be a slight chance of snow showers. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 30 degrees and winds up to 23 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 14 degrees and winds up to 20 mph.
