Police Blotter: Fake 9-1-1 Calls, Criminal Mischief and Violation of a Restraining Order

The following incidents were reported by Princeton Borough Police between Sept. 15-21.

 

On Sept. 15 at 1:57 a.m., police arrested Manuel Barrera, 22, of Trenton after he allegedly threw a piece of cement at the post office building at 23 Palmer Square and broke three windows. 

Barrera was charged with criminal mischief and then released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24.

On Sept. 20 at 11:17 p.m., police arrested Jonathan Joyce, 41, of Princeton on North Tulane Street after he allegedly spit on a female victim's face, grabbed her by the neck and pushed her into a wall causing minor injuries.

Upon his arrest, Joyce was found to be in possession of a marijuana grinder. After his arrest, he allegedly called the victim in violation of a temporary restraining order. 

Joyce was charged with simple assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment and violation of a restraining order. He was committed in lieu of $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24. 

 

On Sept. 21 at 1:43 a.m. police arrested David Rice, 29, of Kendall Park after he allegedly made several false reports to police using the 9-1-1 system.

Rice was taken into custody on Nassau Street, charged with false public alarms and released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24.
