Five Township Burglaries or Attempted Burglaries Reported so Far in 2012
Residents are urged to lock their homes and garages.

Princeton Township Police report the following recent burglaries and attempted residential burglaries in the Township so far in 2012.
- On Jan. 2 at 4:42 p.m., police responded to the first block of Sycamore Lane for a report of an attempted burglary. The resident said he woke around 1 a.m. by a noise coming from the dining room. He went downstairs to investigate and found that his dining room window was open and the screen had been removed. He locked the window and went back to bed. An investigation continues.
- On Jan. 17 at 8 a.m. police responded to the 600 block of Princeton-Kingston Road on a report of a burglary. The resident said she entered her garage at 8 a.m. and found two boxes lying on the floor that had previously been stacked under a window, which she observed to be unlocked. The resident she found a window screen had been removed from the window frame and was lying horizontally against the garage siding. Nothing was reported as missing. An investigation continues.
- On Jan. 17 at approximately 3:20 a.m., police responded to the 500 block of Princeton Kingston Road for a report of an attempted break-in attempt.Police found a side sliding door to the home partway open. The homeowners said they were upstairs in the bedroom when they heard the sliding door open and their dog bark. They remained upstairs until police arrived. There were no other signs of entry and the homeowner claimed that the sliding door was closed prior to going to bed. An investigation continues.
- On Jan. 17 at 8:06 a.m., police were dispatched to the 500 block of Princeton-Kingston Road for a report of a burglary. The resident said he went out to his detached garage at 8 a.m. and found the rear garage door had been left open and the door had been left unlocked overnight. His vehicle, which had been left unlocked and parked inside, had been opened and keys and loose change had been stolen from inside. No other items were found to be missing. An investigation continues.
- On Jan. 17 at 10:09 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Prospect Avenue for a report of a burglary. The resident said she woke up to find her purse, car keys and camera missing from inside the house near her front door. She said her vehicle was entered as well but there was nothing taken from inside. The value of the stolen property is valued at $230.00.
The police remind residents to lock vehicles and homes at night and avoid becoming a victim of opportunity.
