Hazardous Weather Outlook, Flood Watch Extended Through Wednesday In Princeton
Wet weather with scattered storms is expected to linger until mid-week, according to forecasters.
PRINCETON, NJ - More severe weather is expected in the Princeton region on Tuesday, as the forecasters have extended the hazardous weather outlook and flood watch.
"Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded," the National Weather Service said.
A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of south central Mercer, including Princeton, the NWS said Tuesday evening. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

"If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building,"NWS said. "Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways."
Wet weather with scattered storms is expected to linger in New Jersey until mid-week. The daily threat of thunderstorms will significantly lower from Thursday to Sunday.

Here's the forecast for the next few days:
- Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 a.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. High near 81. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
- Tuesday night: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Low around 64. South wind around 5 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
- Wednesday: A chance of showers before 11 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
- Wednesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
- Thursday: A slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
