PRINCETON, NJ — Forecasters are predicting severe thunderstorms and fierce winds on Monday for Princeton.
Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, through the evening, with the possibility of hail and damaging winds, according to Accuweather.
Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. This weather will continue into Tuesday, where more showers and thunderstorms are expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers and thunderstorms are already entering the area Monday morning, but the main event is expected to travel from west to east starting at 2 p.m., with the greatest severe thunderstorm potential to come after 4 p.m., the weather service said.

- Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Monday night: Showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between midnight and 3 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 a.m. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Patchy fog after 1 a.m.
- Tuesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3 p.m. Patchy fog between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. On Tuesday night, showers and thunderstorms before 3 a.m, then a slight chance of showers. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Wednesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. On Wednesday night, a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 62. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
