The district officially welcomed LaSusa and approved his revised employment agreement last week.

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Schools Superintendent Michael LaSusa is settling into his new role after what he describes as a "pretty good summer" getting acquainted with the district and community.
During last week's Board of Education meeting, the district officially welcomed LaSusa and approved his revised employment agreement. The five-year contract runs through June 30, 2030, with an annual salary starting at $295,000 and 2 percent increases each year.
The salary structure breaks down as follows: $295,000 for the 2025-2026 school year, $300,900 for 2026-2027, $306,918 for 2027-2028, $313,056 for 2028-2029, and $319,317 for the final year of the contract.

Addressing the community during the meeting, LaSusa reflected on his first two weeks in the position, describing an overwhelmingly positive reception from community members, students, staff, and board members. He has spent the time meeting stakeholders and overseeing ongoing district projects.
"I've just enjoyed working with everyone so far and meeting everyone, and it's only been two weeks, so I don't think two weeks a transition makes," LaSusa said. "Give another couple of months before we pat ourselves on the back."

Despite the brief timeframe, LaSusa expressed enthusiasm about his early experience.
"But nonetheless, it's been just a wonderful, wonderful experience thus far, and I'm looking forward to a lot more wonderfulness in the coming months and years," he said.
