Teen Fatally Stabbed As Mob Overtakes Street On Halloween Night: Mercer Co. Prosecutor

TRENTON, NJ — A man was charged with murder after police say he fatally stabbed a teen in the throat on Halloween night in Trenton.
Jemair Austin, 18, of Trenton, was arrested on Friday by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force and charged with first-degree murder, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
According to police, around 10:00 p.m., Trenton Police Officers went to the first block of East Hanover Street in response to numerous 911 calls reporting a large disturbance.

Several callers notified police of the activity, including information that a large group of juveniles were involved in physical altercations and people had been stabbed or shot, Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey and Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson said.
When Trenton patrol officers arrived, they found a person in the street who had been stabbed in the throat.

The victim, identified as Gussiah McEachern, 17, of Trenton, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was ultimately pronounced dead from the fatal wound, said Marbrey.
