More than half a dozen events are happening in and around Princeton to honor Dr. King this weekend and on Monday, Jan. 16.

Jersey Cares will hosts a Martin Luther King Day of Service by mobilizing volunteers across the state, including the city of Trenton. , 9 a.m. to noon, Free. 

There will be a . All are welcome to join Friends of Princeton Nursery Lands for a cleanup session clearing small trees, brush, vines and trash in the Mapleton Preserve. Noon to 3 p.m., Free.  

The , Kidsbridge Tolerance Museum, and the Historical Society of Princeton will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life with an . There will be creative learning, puppet shows, artistic expressions and other activities, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Free.

Harmon, Sr., president of the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey. The event will include mime group Brothers of Faith, singer Taylor Stokes Pickett, a dance troupe, poetry contest and reading. 2 p.m., Free. 

will hold its annual King Day celebration in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. The keynote address will be delivered by civil rights leader and educator Bob Moses, a visiting fellow in Princeton's Center for African American Studies. The Princeton Clergy Association will host its Annual Interfaith Service to commemorate and honor the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King will be at 7 p.m.  at Mt. Pisgah AME Church, 170 Witherspoon St. Princeton Coaliton for Peace Action Excecutive Director, the Rev. Robert Moore will preach this year's sermon, "Holistic Prophet of Nonviolence," and be joined by faith leaders from a wide range of traditions. The offering will be split between the Coalition and United Negro College Fund.
