Police Blotter: Thefts, Drug Possession, Accidents

The following incidents were reported by Princeton Borough Police for the period of Oct. 5-15.

 


On Oct. 5 at 3:36 p.m., a caller reported that sometime between 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 someone removed her child’s backpack from a common area at The Hun School on Edgerstoune Road. The backpack contained a MacBook, scientific calculator, and other personal items. The total value of the items was not immediately known.  

On Oct. 6 at 7:33 p.m., a victim called to report their Coach bag, containing an iPod, was stolen at Jasna Polana on Lawrenceville Road earlier in the day. The combined value of the items was estimated at $430.

On Oct. 9 at 2:45 p.m., a U.S. Postal truck driven by Jonathan Hannawacker, 36, of Hamilton was parked in a no parking zone in the 300 block of Franklin Avenue when an Audi driven by Cheryl Mintz, 50, of Princeton, struck it. Hannawacker was issued a summons for parking illegally, while Mintz was issued a summons for improper backing. 

On Oct. 11 at 7:58 a.m., three vehicles were driving north in the 100 block of Alexander Street when a Volvo driven by Patrick Hough, 28, of Princeton, rear-ended a Chevrolet driven by Efrain Hernendez, 45, of Princeton. The impact caused Hernandez to rear-end an Acura driven by Herbert Scheuren III of West Windsor. No one was injured and all the vehicles were driven away. Hough was issued a summons for careless driving.

On Oct. 11 at 7:12 p.m., a Honda driven by Christopher Trenholm, 46, of Princeton rear-ended a BMW driven by Michelle Baum, 23, of Manalapan as both vehicles were driving south in the 300 block of Alexander Street. Trenholm was issued a summons for careless driving. 

On Oct. 14 at 5:25 p.m., a man reported that sometime between 2:50 and 3:10 p.m. someone stole his child's unlocked bicycle (valued at $300) from Community Park South. 

On Oct. 14 6:46 p.m., a resident reported a boater on the water at dusk was dumping unknown items into the water. Police contacted the boater, identified as Bradford Feldman, 50, of Fair Lawn. Feldman was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of marijuana under 60g. He was later released to a relative. 

On Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m., a Ford truck driven by Jose Encarnation, 19, of Trenton was driving west in the 100 block of Drakes Corner Road when Encarnation, who was in the area to make a delivery, stopped to back into a driveway. As he was backing up the vehicle, he struck a Lexus, driven by Elizabeth Sands, 53, of Princeton Encarnation was issued a summons for careless driving.

On Oct. 15 at 6:12 p.m., three vehicles were driving south in the 300 block of Alexander Street when a Honda driven by Mary Anderson Cagno, 38, of New Hope, Pa. rear-ended a Nissan driven by Carolyn Campbell-McGovern, 50, of West Windsor. Theimpact forced the Nissan to rear-end a Toyota driven by Isaac Antebi, 76, of Somerset. Campbell-McGovern complained of neck pain, but refused treatment. Cagno was issued a summons for careless driving.
