Princeton Fire Department To Host Annual Open House On Fire Prevention Week
This year, Fire Prevention Week is from Oct. 5–11, and the theme is 'Charge Into Fire Safety.'
PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Fire Department will celebrate Fire Prevention Week at its annual Open House on Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 363 Witherspoon Street.
This family-friendly event is the community's chance to meet the firefighters who serve the residents, discover important fire safety tips, and enjoy hands-on activities. Whether you're young or young at heart, there's something for everyone.
There will be a bounce house, firetrucks, hot dogs, cotton candy, fire props, and more.

This year, Fire Prevention Week is from Oct. 5–11, and the theme is “Charge Into Fire Safety.” it focuses on the safe use of battery-powered devices and the growing need to understand fire risks in technology-filled lives.
Fire Prevention Week has been observed since 1922, and in 1925, President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed Fire Prevention Week a national observance.

Fire Prevention Week is observed each year during the week of Oct. 9 in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire of Oct. 8, 1871, which killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless and destroyed more than 17,400 structures.
