Princeton Man Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

Police say the man returned to the scene of an alleged fight with a 13-inch kitchen knife.

 

A Witherspoon Street man was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on Sunday after police say he returned to the scene of an alleged fight with a 13-inch kitchen knife. 

Juan Solares-Samoya, 51, of the 100 block of Witherspoon Street, was arrested, charged and released on $500 bail.

Acccording to Princeton Borough Police, officers responded to Witherspoon Street at 8:54 p.m. for a report of a fight in progress. Police found two males outside who claimed they had been physically attacked by Solares-Samoya. 

Police say that's when Solares-Samoya walked out of a residence carrying a 13-inch kitchen knife. He began walking towards the officers, but fled back into the residence when he saw them. Police said they were able to grab Solares-Samoya and he threw the knife through an open door in the house.

Solares-Samoya is due in court on Oct. 29.
