Princeton Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Teen Driver
The 74-year-old man remains hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
PRINCETON, NJ – A 74-year-old man was seriously injured after he was struck by a 17-year-old driver on Tuesday afternoon, Princeton police said.
Around 3:44 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a 9-1-l call reporting a crash involving a pedestrian on Wiggins St. near Sylvia Beach Way.
When officers arrived on the scene they found 74-year-old Hin Chin who was seriously injured. EMS and paramedics determined that Chin required immediate transport via helicopter to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, police said.

Authorities created a landing zone at Princeton High School and Chin was transported via helicopter to the hospital, where he currently remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to preliminary investigation, a 17-year-old driver, operating a 2012 gray Honda Odyssey, was traveling westbound on Wiggins Street, while Chin was walking eastbound on the southern sidewalk of Wiggins Street. The diver made a left tum onto Sylvia Beach Way, and the vehicle struck Chin causing him to suffer a head injury, police said.

The Princeton Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the crash.
