Princeton Schools Bids Adieu To 2 Veteran Educators With 54 Combined Years of Service
The announcement was made during the BOE meeting held on Wednesday.

PRINCETON, NJ – Two longtime teachers from Princeton Public Schools, with a combined 54 years in teaching, will be retiring in a few months.
During the Board of Education meeting, BOE President informed the community that Princeton Middle School science teacher Steven Carson submitted his letter, and his retirement will be effective Sept. 1.
He will have completed 23 years in the district.

The second educator to submit her letter was an educational media specialist from Riverside Elementary, Elizabeth Lien. Lien announced her retirement, effective October 1. She will wrap up 31 years of service to Princeton students and families.
BOE members praised Carson for his impact on students and wished him a happy retirement.

BOE member Mara Franceschi recognized Carson for his lasting impact on students, including her three children. She said the school community was deeply grateful for his years of service, wisdom, patience and heart.
“As you step into retirement, may you find the same joy and discovery that you helped so many of your students find in science. Your service has left a lasting mark, not only in the classroom but in our lives,” Franceschi said.
“On behalf of all your students, past, present, and future, thank you for everything you've done. You've truly made a difference.”
