Princeton Township Police Log, Jan 7-21

Incidents include theft, receiving stolen property and an accident with injury.

 

The following incidents were submitted by the Princeton Township Police Department: 

  • On Jan. 7 at 10:13 a.m., Police received a report of a theft from a home under construction in the first block of Shadybrook Lane. The victim reported that between 12/20/2011 and 01/02/2012, two boxes containing 25 doorknobs were removed. The locks are described as oil rubbed bronze finish with a total value is $375.
  • On Jan. 11 at 12:29 p.m., police responded to 741 Mt. Lucas Road for a report of a suspicious male who appeared to be looking into and attempting to open vehicles in the parking lot. Upon arriving, patrols spoke with Jesse F. Gonzalez , 23, of Chase Street, Trenton who denied entering or attempting to enter vehicles.  Gonzalez was in possession of several items, including an iPod car charger, which he said were his.  Police did not find forced entry into any vehicle and no items had been reported stolen. Gonzalez had an active arrest warrant out of Trenton in the amount of $200.00. He was arrested and released after posting bail.  Several hours later, someone reported his iPod charger stolen from his parked vehicle at 741 Mt. Lucas Road.  Gonzalez was charged with Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, and Tampering With Evidence.
  • On Jan. 20 at 9:17 a.m., Police responded to Bunn Drive for a report of a two-car accident. An investigation revealed that Michael Leach, 20, of Wedgewood Court, Belle Mead, was driving north on Bunn Drive, crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a vehicle driven by David Vankin, 38, of Tupelo Road, Princeton. Vankin’s passenger, Hannah Gutschow, complained of neck/back pains and was transported to the University Medical Center at Princeton for treatment. Leach was issued a summons for careless driving and failure to keep right. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. 
  • On Jan. 21 at 1:34 a.m., Police observed two suspicious vehicles in the parking lot at Farmview Fields Park on Great. In one vehicle there were three people inside and a strong odor of marijuana. An investigation revealed that the driver, Arthur Nottenburg, 19, of Jefferson Road, Princeton, was in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.  Nottenburg was released and he and two passengers were also issued summonses for violating a local ordinance for being in the park after dusk.
