Friday

Princeton University's Annual Football Concert- a 99 year tradition. Princeton Glee Club hosts the Harvard Glee Club this year for the annual choral faceoff, Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall, 7:30 p.m. 

 Gilbert and Sullivan’s twelfth operetta. The concert is a fundraiser for the choir's scheduled trip to Italy and Slovenia in February. Princeton High School Performing Arts Center, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday

Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart invites the public to "Paint Out!" an opportunity to walk the campus to watch open air painting from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artists are welcome and all paintings will be for sale (all proceeds go to the artist). Free pastel workshops for children in grades 3-8 from 2-3 p.m. & 3- 4 p.m.

Princeton Senior Resource Center hosts a "Plan for the Future" conferencefeaturing workshops on legal and financial planning, retirement lifestyle and encore career, family conversation about aging, downsizing, organizing, home modifications, and residential community contracts, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This hike is for adults only, not appropriate for children  Registration is required.  Meet at parking lot at end of Olden Lane, Princeton, 9 a.m. to noon.

Stop by Princeton University Art Museum anytime between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Art for Families: A Chip Off the Old Block. Enjoy a self-guided, interactive tour and then create a sculpture of your own. 

Harvest Day at Morven Museum & Garden. The garden will come alive with crafts, pumpkin decorating and refreshments. There will also be a demonstration by pumpkin carvers extraordinaire Ashley & Steve Campbell, 2-4 p.m. 

The YWCA Princeton invites little princesses to a magical ball dressed in their favorite princess dress. Make your own princess crown, take a photo with Cinderella, walk in a princess parade, enjoy story-telling, ballet, snacks and more Parents must accompany child, 3 p.m. 

Fall Celebration at the Princeton University Art Museum. William A.P. Childs, professor emeritus in the Department of Art and Archaeology, will deliver the keynote lecture, “How Vivid Is the Joy in Strangeness,” for the opening of City of Gold: Tomb and Temple in Ancient Cyprus. A reception celebrating the fall exhibitions season will follow in the Art Museum, 5-7:30 p.m. 

Princeton University Orchestra Concert, featuring Professor Dmitri Tymoczko's "Power Chords" for string quartet and orchestra and the Shostakovich Symphony No. 10 in E Minor, Op. 93, 7:30 p.m.

 

Sunday

Come skate with the Princeton Skating Club on at Lisa McGraw Ice Rink at Princeton Day School. Learn about ice skating and group lessons for all ages, tots to adults. Skate rentals will be available for a minimal fee, 1 p.m. 

Tour the Rockingham grounds before descending to the towpath for a round trip walk along the D&R Canal to Rocky Hill. Walk will be on mostly level ground, but with a short, moderately steep descent/ascent at the beginning and end of the walk, 2 p.m. 

An afternoon of jazz at “Floyd Fete” to honor longtime community volunteers Jim and Fannie Floyd and raise scholarship money for the  Jim and Fannie Floyd Scholarship Fund at Mercer County Community College, 3 p.m. 

Princeton Public Library presents an examination of Haiti and an update on the island’s struggle to rebuild after the 2010 earthquake. Features Ethan Casey, author of “Bearing the Bruise: A Life Graced by Haiti,” and Jeffrey J. Richter, a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army Reserves and president of New Jersey-Haiti Partners of the Americas, 2 p.m.
