Behind the Music: Meet Composer Zhou Tian: a forum exploring modern music composition, as Tian discusses the creation of his piece The Grand Canal. Advanced reservations required, 5:30 p.m.

Saturday

The third annual UFAR 5k to Combat Riverblindness: UFAR is an African-inspired, Lawrenceville nonprofit that aims – in partnership with other organizations - to eradicate onchocerciasis, a major public health problem in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Race begins at 10 a.m. registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

SAVE's 2nd Annual Stroll for Strays: a family-friendly event will feature a walk (with or without a dog), a dog agility demonstration, a doggie costume contest vendors, non-profit groups, raffles and more. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Festival of Music and Art: Asian Adventures: conductor Rossen Milanov leads the PSO Family Concert, featuring kid-friendly musical selections, at 2:30 p.m. at Richardson Auditorium. Between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., explore the Princeton University Art Museum’s Asian art collection. Go on a scavenger hunt and make your own dragon kite.

John Witherspoon Middle School Carnival will include boardwalk-style games and rides, bouncy houses and slides, food, dunk tank, cake walk and more, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

 

Sunday

Witherspoon Grill's Fourth Annual Harvest & Music Festival: a family-friendly event with live music and an array of foods from Witherspoon Grill and other local vendors. There will also be pumpkin painting, apple dipping, face painting, pie-eating contests and more. A portion of the day's proceeds with benefit the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Noon to 5 p.m. 

Palmer Square Celebrates 75 Years in Downtown Princeton. Honor the past, present and future of Palmer Square, Edgar Palmer's vision for a vibrant town center in the heart of downtown Princeton. Enjoy Chris Rollins from the WPST Morning Crew, 1930’s music by the Richard Reiter Swing Band, kids crafts and activities, sign a giant birthday car, pin the birthday hat on Edgar Palmer and more. Noon to 5 p.m. 

Aaron Kleinbaum, an attorney with the Eastern Environmental Law Center who will discuss 3 p.m.                                         

An international economics lecture-discussion, "Troubling Issues Forum: World Economy:" a panel of economists and finance experts will comment on the complicated relationship between the economies of Europe, Asia and the U.S., 4 p.m.

Classical Series Concert: China's Glory. Enjoy Stravinsky's Song of the Nightingale, Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Zhou Tian's The Grand Canal. Featuring Di Wu on piano and Rossen Milanov, as conductor, 4 p.m.
