PRINCETON, NJ — Stony Brook Regional Sewerage Authority (SBRSA) is looking to expand its office space at their 290 River Road facility.

SBRSA treatment services Princeton, South Brunswick, West Windsor, Hopewell Township and Borough, and Pennington Borough.

An existing 60’x12’ prefabricated office trailer has occupied the facility’s southeastern corner for 28 years.

SBSRA intends to demolish the current trailer and construct a new one measuring 60’x24’. A 25’x5’concrete sidewalk leading to an ADA-accessible ramp is proposed over existing pavement.

“The increase in floor area for the proposed office trailer does not represent a significant increase in the overall SBRSA site and would not cause a detrimental increase in traffic from the site,” according to land use and zoning comments.

The new trailer will be located to the west of the original, so the demolition site will be reseeded. No changes to existing parking has been proposed.

In his memo to the Planning Board, Municipal Planner Ian Henderson said: “The Plan assumes that “Princeton will welcome growth.” According to the Master Plan’s Utility Element, SBRSA has a “rated capacity of 13.06 MGD, but the Authority is exploring the potential to expand capacity to 20 MGD” (97), so increased office space to handle an increase in service seems reasonable.”

The Municipality’s Planning Board is expected to hear the application on March 6. Here’s the agenda.
