Thunderstorm, Flash Flood Warning Issued For Mercer County
Strong thunderstorms are expected to impact portions of Mercer Country, the National Weather Service said. See impacted areas:
PRINCETON, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood and severe thunderstorm warning for Mercer County towns until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Strong thunderstorms are expected to impact portions of Mercer Country, accompanied by flash flooding. An automated wind sensor reported strong thunderstorms producing wind gusts to 40 mph along a line extending from Sand Brook to Pennington.
Gusty winds could knock down tree branches and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Trenton, Ewing, Princeton, Lawrenceville, Pennington, and Hopewell. Impact also includes highways - New Jersey Turnpike between exits 5 and 7A, Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 353 and 359; Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 37 and 40; Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 15 and 25; Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 6; Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 46 and 76.

Flash flooding is expected in Trenton, Ewing, Princeton, and Hightstown. Expect flooding in small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas.
If outdoors, the National Weather Service advises seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with storms and may lead to localized flooding. Residents are asked not to drive through flooded roadways.
