Tractor-Trailer Knocks Down Traffic Light

Florida driver issued several summonses, including careless driving.

On May 24 around 9:45 p.m. Township police responded to the intersection of Mercer Street and Lovers Lane, after a Freightliner tractor/trailer tried to make a left turn onto Lovers Lane and knocked the traffic light down.

The driver, Richard Henry, 45, of Jacksonville, Fla, was attempting to make the turn form northbound Mercer Street when the incident happened, according to police.

Henry was issued several motor vehicle summonses- operating an overweigh vehicle on a restricted roadway, operating an overweight vehicle on a weigh restricted bridge and careless driving.

Mercer County Department of Transportation responded to repair the traffic signal and Henry later drove the truck away. The road was closed for about 45 minutes.
