Unlawful Possession Of Handgun, Theft: Princeton Police Blotter

The Princeton police blotter dated Feb. 11 had the following reports:

The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton police:

On Feb. 4, at 2:16 p.m., Patrols investigated a criminal mischief incident where the victim reported that an unknown individual left a poster on the windshield of his car and also scratched the passenger side of the vehicle before leaving the area. A follow-up investigation was conducted, which resulted in a 44-year-old Princeton resident being identified as the suspect. He was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal mischief and harassment and was released with a court date.

On Feb. 5, at 9:13 p.m., following a motor vehicle stop for failure to keep right and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle, a 63-year-old Princeton resident was arrested after he was found to be operating his vehicle while intoxicated. He was processed at headquarters and then released. He was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, reckless driving, and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle.

On Feb. 5, at 1:36 p.m., Princeton Patrols responded to Rosedale Road on a report of a criminal mischief incident involving bias intimidation. Patrols located graffiti on two traffic signs. The graffiti, which appeared to be written with a red marker, consisted of "Free Palestine" with a red triangle and "Zionism kills kids". The cost of removal is unknown.

On Feb. 5, at 4:37 p.m., Patrols responded to Christopher Drive for the report of a criminal mischief incident involving bias intimidation. Upon arrival, patrols located graffiti on a street sign which consisted of “ F**K Israel,” written in red paint on the lower right portion of the sign. The cost of removal is unknown.

On Feb. 8, 4:56 a.m., Patrols responded to Princeton Kingston Road for the report of a suspicious vehicle in the roadway. Subsequent investigation revealed that an unknown person(s) entered a residence located on Princeton Kingston Road through an unsecured garage window and then attempted to steal the vehicle from the garage. Upon attempting to leave the residence with the stolen vehicle, the unknown suspect(s) struck the garage, causing damage to both the garage and the vehicle. The unknown suspect(s) abandoned the vehicle in the roadway near the residence and then fled the area. There are no suspects at this time.

On Feb. 10, at 12:27 p.m., a woman reported that her vehicle was burglarized on Feb. 10, between 10:15 a.m. and 12:27 p.m. while it was parked in a parking lot. An unknown person(s) used an unidentified object to shatter the front passenger window. The unknown suspect then entered the vehicle and stole the victim’s purse. There are currently no suspects.

On Feb. 10, at 12:58 p.m., Patrols were dispatched to a business on Nassau Street on the report of an individual, described as a white male with a red hat and gray shirt, who was reportedly carrying a visible firearm within the establishment. Patrols located an individual matching the description nearby and identified him as a 76-year-old Skillman resident. Subsequent investigation revealed that the man was in possession of an unregistered firearm, as well as hollow-point ammunition and pepper spray. The man was arrested, transported to headquarters, and processed. He was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was released on his own recognizance with a court date.

On Feb. 10, at 12:47 p.m., following an assist person call, an Ewing resident was arrested after he was found to have a no-bail warrant issued by the Lawrence Township Municipal Court. The 40-year-old was placed under arrest and taken to headquarters, where he was processed. Williams was later turned over to the Lawrence Township Police Department.
