ICYMI: Video Shows Hurt Fox Pup Saved From Princeton Site
The fox pup fell into an unfinished basement in a construction site, likely the cause of its leg injury.

PRINCETON, NJ — An injured fox pup was saved from a construction site Tuesday by a Princeton animal control officer. The fox fell into the unfinished basement at a Witherspoon Street construction site, injuring its leg.
Police released the video, now on the NJ.com YouTube page, showing the scared fox moving around the pit and trying to run up the concrete brick walls.
An animal control officer slowly approached the cornered fox and got it safely into a net on the first try, then transferred it to a crate.

"We're very proud of the way (Animal Control Officer) Jim Ferry handles these types of calls," said Sgt. Fred Williams of the Princeton Police Department. "He gets a pretty good workout here, with all different kinds of animals.
"He deserves all the credit for that," Williams told Patch.

The fox was brought to Mercer County Wildlife Center in Hopewell, NJ.com reported.
An x-ray at the center revealed the fox had a fractured leg. "They're going to do everything they can," Williams said. If the fox recovers fully, they'll release it back to the wild.
"The goal is to rehabilitate," Williams said.
