To the Editor:
At a recent Boro Council meeting the PCDO President remarked “this is a Dem town."  He might have added we like it that way and will continue to run it.   Â

It follows that the real choice and the critical issue in Princeton’s first Mayoral election is whether we choose to continue a generation of one Party control or achieve a modicum of bipartisanship truly representative of our Towns wonderful mix of talents and diversity. Please remember that regardless of what happens in this first United Princeton election the Party now in control will remain a majority on Council even after the next two elections because of terms of office for those on this years ballot. Â
Regardless of assured control, this has been priority #1 from day one of the Transition. Â Actions of the local elected incumbents and the PCDO reinforced this priority to maintain Party control of the United Princeton. This became glaringly evident to anyone participating in depth with the Transition Task Force and its Sub-committees as well as the joint meetings of the two Governing Bodies. The strategy was amplified as the campaign kicked off with the PCDO nominating a Party slate later confirmed by the local primary election of their six, excluding other well qualified candidates. Â

With the Mayoral campaign now in full swing, the two candidate tables recently on Hinds Plaza showed the major difference in focus.  The Party in control tent featured a vote the straight Party ticket approach with little mention of  local races. The tent manned largely by Party national and state campaign veterans was filled with dozen of campaign items for sale with a few freebies for Princeton’s local candidates
In stark contrast, the Dick Woodbridge “One Spirit, One Princeton “ table was all about Princeton. Nothing else!
Vote local for Princeton. Vote for Woodbridge.
