RAMSEY, NJ — Students at The Forum School will be able to continue enjoying their "Learning Lunch" program thanks to a donation from Ramsey Auto Group, the school announced.

The Forum School is a state-approved, private school for students with autism and other learning, behavioral, social, and language challenges in Waldwick.

During the daily "Learning Lunch," teachers sit down with their students to practice conversation and motor skills. The school chef prepares a hot lunch, with new dishes to expand the students' interests.

It costs $50,000 to run the program, according to Forum School Parent's Association treasurer Jimmy Conroy. The pandemic has made it difficult for them to fundraise, he said.

“I cannot thank them enough for this important donation, especially now,” said Conroy, a 26-year employee of Ramsey Auto Group. “This is truly an amazing gift. It allows our Parents’ Association to dream bigger.”

Ramsey Auto Group donated the money last month, the school said.

“We are so grateful for our ongoing relationship with the business community here in Bergen County,"said Brian Detlefsen, Director of The Forum School. "Ramsey Auto Group has been a long-time supporter of our work and an important community partner, serving as a career learning site for many of our students. Their commitment to supporting students with autism is an example to all."
