The Water Department has scheduled the fire hydrant flushing program for two nights, Wednesday 9/29 and Thursday 9/30. Please do not place garbage or recycling cans in the roadways due to water running down the curb line may knock over cans. If the weather is unfavorable or emergencies occur, rescheduling can happen.

The majority of the flushing will be on dead end streets, roadways, and parking lots throughout the Borough.

Night #1 Wednesday 9/29 - 10:00 pm Start - - - Thursday 9/30 7:00 am Finish
Night #2 Thursday 9/30- 10:00 pm Start - - - Friday 10/01 7:00 am Finish
The water is safe to drink. Customers may experience a reduction in water pressure, slight discoloration (please use caution while using the washing machine for laundry, try running an empty cycle first), and possible air in the water which may cause noise or vibration of your water pipes. If you experience the above issues please run your water from an outside faucet if available or a bathtub or sink without an aerator for about five minutes until clear.
If the problem continues please call the Water Department Office 201-825-3400 ext. 234 or 237, M-F hours M-F 8:30am – 4:30pm or the D.P.W. Office extension 274, hours 7:00am – 3:30pm. If there is an emergency after hours please contact Ramsey Police 201-327-2400 and they will get in touch with the Water Standby personnel.
