Ramsey Borough: Water Main Replacement Work On Poplar & Christopher St.

The Borough of Ramsey strives to provide you with the highest quality water and the best possible service. To this end, they have awarded a construction contract to ONQUE Technologies, Inc. to replace the existing water main on Poplar Street between Island Avenue and Finch Street, and to install a water main on Christopher Street, between Poplar Street and Washington Drive. Currently, there is no water main on this portion of Christopher Street. The existing water main on Poplar Street is nearing its useful life and in order to continue providing reliable service to you, the Borough of Ramsey is proactively replacing the main. The new mains will help to improve hydraulic capacity and water quality.

Construction is currently scheduled to begin on or about the week of November 1, 2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of the month; weather permitting. Final road paving will be performed under a separate Borough of Ramsey contract at a later date.

It is expected that during construction the street may need to be closed to through traffic as construction work progresses and detouring of traffic will be instituted.
